Last February 16-17, 2017 Global Surge, a religious organization, conducted a two-day spiritual camp themed “Dead End: Find your way out” that was held in Highlands Camp and Conference Center at Iba, Zambales.

Over 800 students including the teachers from San Juan National High School and St. Bernadette Colleges of Valenzuela came at the said event comprising the Batch 17 of this year’s attendees.

Participants arrived at around two in the afternoon, and went exploring and taking pictures of the beautiful views around the vicinity. The main event started at five led by the guest speaker from Global Surge staff. The attendees were group into four named ‘One Way’, ‘U-Turn’, ‘Detour’ and ‘Yield’ - all these words an analogy to one’s spiritual journey in life. A musical band joined the campers came night time where everyone sang, danced and praised Jesus.

On the second day, the campers practiced their own cheer dance for the field games. There were also enriching discussions about one’s faith in God and a bible study.

Before departing, rankings of the group were announced with Team Detour leading Batch 17 in the tallies.

The said retreat ended well without any unlikely incidents that occurred.

“Life is like driving in the road, if we’re facing some challenges let’s YIELD and let them pass. If we think something is wrong let’s take a U-TURN and go back to see if there were some mistake that we have done. If we feel like our life is hopeless, let’s find the ONE WAY that will lead us to our happy lives. And if we think that it’s our DEAD END, let’s take a DETOUR and find an alternate or another way.”
