The San Juan National Junior High school’s Men’s Volleyball team swept off Xavier School's own in a score of 25-21, 25-22 and 25 -19 in Xavier's home court last November 28, 2016 during the 9th Division Athletic Meet.
An astonishing straight set of 3 was done by the SJNHS team not giving the Xaviers the chance to bag the title. The said teams have their good service-receive conversation mostly on the first and last set yet SJNHS grab the chance of heading to Regional meet.
The key used by them to win over the opponent was their teamwork and trust to each other as was stated by Kenth Datu, the team captain. He claimed that it’s a good luck for them specially that some of them are now moving up to Senior high school next year.
“It’s a good thing to remember and a souvenir to bring”, he said giving some information about his team.
Under the supervision of Ms. Grace Anne Pacis and other MAPEH teachers, athletes from SJNHS started training months ago before the actual game that is why they are in good condition before the actual competition.
The team is said to be preparing for their next battle against teams from other regions in the NCR this coming 2017.
Meanwhile, the SJNHS women’s volleyball failed to defend their team against Immaculate Christian Academy’s women’s volleyball team which competed on the same date.
