On the Go with Pokemon Go!

Many are already caught by the pokemon monsters. The Pokemon Go mobile application fever is now on the half of the earth. Not only the youth of 20th century are experiencing this worldwide record-breaking game but also the youth of the 19th century who've been watching The Pokemon Series. Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, made the most significant evolutionary leap in the 20 year history of the Pokemon Gameboy play as it was turned into a reality mobile platform. This app covered almost 90% of mobile users in playing the game that it is the most used application as of this year.

Pokemon Go is a free-to-play, location based augmented reality game. It uses device's GPS in able for us to locate, capture, battle, and train these fictitious characters called Pokemons. Even though this mobile game was released only last July 2016, it became already popular just on the first week of launching.

In this game, people go out to capture and collect pokemons. They go to different places such as national theme parks, amusement parks, historical markers, monuments, public art installation, and others just to find virtual creatures known as the Pokémons.

But most of the time, Pokemons are just resting along the streets or sidewalks and can easily be captured using the Pokeballs. Just be careful in throwing Pokeball on the character or it might run away! To collect pokeballs, just go to pokestops and it will give you atleast three to four pieces of pokeballs. More pokeballs equal more pokemon species to get.

Since one can get so engrossed in playing Pokemon Go, there are some things that need to be followed:

  • First, Playing Pokemon Go in the roads is not appropriate especially when you are crossing the streets. You might get into accidents.

  • Second be aware of your surroundings and take good care of your personal belongings.

  • Be alert on your way and to the people around you to avoid crimes such as snatching and hold-upping.

  • Lastly, do not enter any private properties without the owner's consent and don't capture pokemons on some restricted area.

For your safety, it would be much better if you keep your phone open on your pockets and wait until it vibrates instead of making hard your self on locating and finding Pokemons.

The Pokémon Go craze mirrors the humble origin of its original game boy. Since it's using real locations it is like one is in the actual game. Niantic's interesting and adventure-like application helps people to get acquainted and be familiar with more historical places when they try to catch a pokemon there. Through this app one can also build socializing skills by having conversation with other players. Also, it enhances self- alertness and responsibilities. However, it has also attracted controversy for contributing to accidents and becoming a public nuisance at some locations. So practice moderation when using this app.
