Soaring for Freedom

(Inspired by the story of Daedalus and Icarus)

Separation came through darkness

All was a faint light, no more no less

The fright, in the eyes, was witnessed

He flew away, he pleaded

Father and son bonded within

Even through thick or through thin

The power, the strength they collide

They reached the sky and there they glide

Oh dear son!

Our wings are made, well done

Fly like a bird and feel like one

Fly enough but not too high my son

Our wings are made

We are not like gods

Our wings are made

Like how we are made by gods

Too much of something can bring you down

Heed their words, the elders, you need one

Heed their words or your life is done

Heed these words oh my dear son!
