“People who put avocados in the fridge are basically saying, ‘I want to eventually experience something more amazing.” -Gregor Collins

Nowadays people are fond of eating avocados. Some even mix it with salads, have it a flavor for ice cream or ice candy and other else that would taste well with it when blended in. But do you know of its natural health benefits?

The avocado (Persea Americana) is a tree from South Central Mexico, also classified as a member of the flowering plant family Lauraceae. Also called ‘alligator pear’, it is a large fruit containing a single seed that is green in color, sometimes purple especially when overripe.

A nutritious fruit, the avocado offers 20 vitamins and minerals that can help you with your health including vitamin K, Folate, vitamin C, Potassium, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin E, Fiber, Fat, Calories, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Phosphorus, vitamin A, B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin), and B3 (Niacin).

Avocados are a good source of B vitamins which can help you fight diseases and infections. They also have vitamin C and E and natural plant chemicals that may help in preventing cancer.

There is a research that people who eats avocado to their lunch are less interested in eating for the next few hours because of its high fiber content. The researchers noted that eating of avocado was better than overall diet quality, as well as better intake of vegetables and fruits as a whole.

So the next time you buy fruits for your fridge, keep in mind that the green is in.
